Uncanny X-Men 173 [Redesign]

Uncanny X-Men #173 was my first X-Book and left a strong impression. Paul Smith, Japan, Wolverine and Rogue, Silver Samurai, poisoned friends! In this exercise, I redesigned each costume and played around with some of the design cues. I was trying to build a Wolverine costume to reference the tall ‘ear’ mask with a different, black and white colorway (this was long before the X-Force run witht he black and white costumes that looked so rad) but I was more into the Rogue look here. People like his tunic unzipped though. Not enough hairy Logans out there.
